VivreCITIES: New York, New York

April 4,  2022

A day in Mina's city, the Big Apple ... first start off with lunch at the quiet Via Quadronno, a reminder of petite European sandwiches had sitting cliffside on Italy's Amalfi Coast ... after lunch coffee at Ralph's Coffee, A little hidden coffee cart at Rockefeller Center that is by Ralph Lauren, is always a good idea. Hop across to the legendary flagship Saks Fifth Avenue and take their original historic express elevator to the shoe floor (it has its own zip code!). Continue shopping at the dreamy LoveShackFancy store. You won't want to

leave. Grab dessert at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory or Laduree Soho (Ispahan is a must) ... because dessert first, why not?! Then dinner at Pastis, an authentic French Bistro, their streak frites is truly the best I've had. And if French cuisine doesn't suite your taste ... Vestry, a gorgeous seafood restaurant, has a little known secret: it also the BEST wagyu burger served with homemade mayo that is fingerlicking good (PS and I don't even like mayo!). With belly full, head right into The Dominick Hotel for a night of beauty sleep. I love NYC in the summer when it's sunny & quiet. Spend your next day in a cabana on their beautiful rooftop pool with a glass of frozen margarita. Life can't get any better. Another best kept secret: call ahead for concierge, ask for "Eric" who will take care of your every reservations, every need. Want front row seats somewhere? He's got you!

The Most Magical Place ...

In th heart of the Meatpacking Districts, on the crossroads where Greenwich, 9th & Gansevoort meet ... where my favorite French bistro, Pastis, stands adjacent to my favorite hangout, Hermes ... is by far the most magical place on the entire island of Manhattan. In the summer, I choose to dine outside Pastis while musicians play along the cobblestone street. In the winter, the lights from all the surrounding buildings just hits that one spot like it is a scene out of a romantic movie you'd watch again and again.  Here lies, the most magical place ......

Takeaway ...

Whether I am going home, or knowing I'll be traveling to visit friends or families ... I will always take a small piece of my favorite part of NYC with me. I love bringing home Laduree treats. Who says you can't have cake for breakfast?! If I am traveling in the coming days, I would always have Levain cookies for my friends. Who can resist the most decadent cookies on earth?!

And it is certain after a day out and about, being exposed to dusts and pollutants, it's become a ritual for me to wipe my face with Radiante Tissu the minute I get home ... then the unboxing of all my sweet treats.
